Story
Guru Nanak Dev Ji was born at Talwandi, later known as Nankana Sahib. This is among the best-attested facts of his life and is treated here as historically supported, not as a later travel-stop claim.
The Sakhi
According to Sikh tradition, the child Nanak showed spiritual inclination from an early age. Later janamsakhis elaborate childhood episodes; those stories are tradition and are not all independently dated.
Teaching
Sikh teaching remembers Nankana Sahib as the starting point of a life devoted to Ik Oankar — One Creator — rather than as a tourist origin myth.
