HD Historically Disputed
The claim exists in tradition, but there is significant historical uncertainty. Modern historians differ on this destination.
Story
The Singhala Deep episode is famous in Sikh tradition (including meetings remembered with a local ruler in later tellings). Academic opinion is divided. This atlas marks it Historically Disputed while still recording the tradition with respect.
The Sakhi
According to Sikh tradition, Guru Nanak Dev Ji travelled to Singhala Deep and taught there. Later stories name local figures; those names are not treated as independently verified.
Teaching
The tradition emphasises that the Guru’s message was not limited to Punjab.
