ST Sikh Historical Tradition

The visit is recorded in Sikh historical and traditional sources such as janamsakhis or Bhai Gurdas. This is presented as tradition, not as independently proven fact.

Story

Janamsakhi and later Sikh memory describe a visit to Delhi on the eastern travels. Independent court chronicles of a Nanak visit are not presented here as proven. The association is Sikh historical tradition.

The Sakhi

According to Sikh tradition, Guru Nanak Dev Ji met a Muslim mystic known as Majnu on the Yamuna bank. The place later known as Majnu Ka Tilla remembers that meeting. Details of dialogue vary by telling.

Teaching

The Delhi tradition emphasises spiritual friendship across religious lines and the search for God beyond labels.
