Gurdwara Rakab Ganj Sahib marks the place where Lakhi Shah Vanjara and his family cremated the headless body of Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji by setting their own house on fire — an act of immense devotion and courage after the Guru’s martyrdom in Chandni Chowk.
Guru Gobind Singh Ji later identified and remembered this site. In 1783, Sardar Baghel Singh raised a Gurdwara here. Today Rakab Ganj Sahib is also associated with the Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee (DSGMC).
